Relação creche-família: uma visão sociológica

Abstract

Esta investigação pretende estudar a relação entre a família e a creche na educação das crianças em sociedades contemporâneas. A investigação tem como objectivo entender a representação familiar acerca da creche e estudar os meios específicos da participação dos pais na vida das creches. A dissertação apresenta, no primeiro capítulo, uma análise da evolução da história social da família como uma instituição social do Ancien Regime, o século XIX e a sociedade contemporânea. O segundo capítulo analisa um estudo social sobre a infância no mesmo período, enfatizando o recente desenvolvimento da sociologia da infância. O terceiro capítulo apresenta o aparecimento e desenvolvimento das creches na sociedade moderna e o seu papel actual. O quarto capítulo analisa a pergunta central das relações entre a família e a creche. A segunda parte da dissertação inclui a metodologia e os resultados do estudo empírico sobre a representação dos pais e as suas participações práticas em relação às creches das crianças. A dissertação termina afirmando que existem níveis razoáveis de participação dos pais na vida da creche, mas esta participação é limitada pela falta de tempo dos pais.

This research intends to study the relationship between the family and crèche in the education of children in contemporary societies. The research aims to understand family representation about crèche and to study the specific means of parent participation in the life of crèches. The dissertation presents, in the first chapter, an analysis of the evolution of the social history of family as a social institution from the Ancien Regime, the 19th century and the contemporary society. The second chapter analyses a social study of childhood in the same period, emphasizing the recent development of the sociology of childhood. The third chapter presents the emergence and development of crèches in the modern society and its present role. The fourth chapter analyses the central question of the relationships between family and school, specifically between family and crèche. The second part of the dissertation includes the methodology and results of the empirical study on parents representations and participations practises in regard to the crèches of their children. The dissertation concludes stating that there are reasonable levels of participation of parents in crèche life, but this participation is limited by lack of time on parents side,
