Resumo(s)Double barrier discharge (DBD) has been widely used to modify textiles properties. The DBD technique is gaining high importance because it can be performed as a continuous process in air at atmospheric pressure. Besides, as an environmental favorable alternative, the plasma technology as been applied effectively for the modification of surface properties of polymers. Dyeing of polyamide fibers is normally made with acid dyes; however different colors might be obtained using other types of dyes by conventional processes after plasmatic modifications. In this work, the DBD treatment was applied with the dosage of 2500 W.min/m2 to 100% polyamide 6.6 plain fabrics. Surface modifications were evaluated by water contact angle and changes in chemistry composition by X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS).
