Profile extrusion calibration: charaterization of the contact resistance at the polymer-calibrator interface

Abstract

In this work a prototype system and methodology developed to characterize the contact resistance at the polymer-calibrator interface are presented and used in a case study. The potential of the developed system to characterize this heat transfer coefficient, very important in profile extrusion, is illustrated using several relevant process conditions.
