Integração social e laboral das mulheres brasileiras no Espaço Europeu : um estudo comparativo entre Portugal e países baixos

Abstract

As migrações de brasileiras no contexto internacional, antes invisíveis em virtude de uma característica mais coadjuvante de reagrupamento família, seguem atualmente o caminho dos processos internacionais femininos no mundo, isto é, no sentido de migrações internacionais mais individualizadas, sem a característica inicial de arreigamento e dependência de seus pares. Tudo isto sem invalidar porém que tenhamos constatado em nosso trabalho, uma forte presença de migrações realizadas também por motivações emocionais e familiares. Na presente investigação tivemos como objetivo geral compreender e interpretar a integração social e laboral de imigrantes brasileiras no espaço de dois países Europeus, a saber, Portugal e Países Baixos, baseando-nos no propósito da construção de uma análise crítica em relação às diferenças e semelhanças de trajetos, observadas nas perceções partilhadas sobre seus percursos migratórios. Aliada a esta finalidade buscámos perceber de que forma referidos trajetos interiores e processos migratórios relacionam-se nestas distintas geografias de dois países europeus que se distanciam pelo idioma, pela cultura, pela (in)existente relação de proximidade histórica ao Brasil, pela diferença da expressividade demográfica da população brasileira em cada país (assim como de redes sociais de apoio) e ainda, pelas diferenças relativas às políticas de imigração e de integração aplicadas e direcionadas aos imigrantes, em especial, àqueles de nacionalidade brasileira. Para a concretização destes objetivos, utilizámos uma metodologia qualitativa, suportada em técnicas de entrevistas semiestruturadas realizadas a imigrantes brasileiras residentes em ambos os países. A investigação de identidade qualitativa permitiu-nos assim perceber que os trajetos de imigração e de integração social e laboral são distintos em função do perfil das mulheres mas também das características do país de acolhimento, pelo que podemos dizer que a sociedade de acolhimento e a bagagem cultural, escolar, e pessoal de cada mulher, trabalham em conjunto no moldar de seus percursos de vida, e de suas experiências de integração migrante. Por fim, este trabalho permitiu-nos a identificação dos pontos principais que poderão ser melhorados no sentido de aprimorar a qualidade da integração laboral e social destas mulheres. Entre eles, encontram-se os estereótipos sobre as mulheres brasileiras em a Portugal, e as dificuldades de aprendizado da língua holandesa, os quais, se devidamente trabalhados em conjunto com as sociedades de acolhimento, poderão reverter em favor da integração das imigrantes brasileiras.

The migrations of Brazilian women in the international context, previously invisible because of an aspect related to familiar reunification, now follow the path of international female processes in the world, that is, in the sense of more individualized international migrations, without the initial characteristic of rootedness and dependence of their peers. All this without invalidating, however, that we have demonstrated in our study a strong presence of migrations performed also by emotional and familiar motivations. In this study, our main goal was to understand and interpret the social and labor integration of Brazilian female immigrants within two European countries, namely Portugal and the Netherlands, based on the purpose of building a critical analysis regarding the differences and similarities of life paths, observed on shared perceptions about their migratory routes. Allied to this aim, we seeked to realize how those intimate paths and migratory processes are related in these distincts geographies of two European countries spaced from one another by language, culture, the (non) existing historical relationship of proximity with Brazil, the difference of demographic expressiveness of each country's population (as well as of social support networks) and still the differences associated with the immigration and integration policies applied and directed to immigrants, especially those of Brazilian nationality. To achieve these objectives, we used a qualitative methodology, based on techniques of semi-structured interviews focused on Brazilian immigrants living in both countries. The qualitative nature of the research allowed us to realize that the paths of immigration and social and labor integration are different depending on the profile of women, but also according to the characteristics of the host country, so we can say that the host society and the cultural, educational and personal accumulation of experiences of each woman work together in shaping their life trajectories and their experiences of migrant integration. Finally, this study enabled us to identify the main points that could be improved in order to enhance the quality of labor and social integration of these women. Among them are the stereotypes about Brazilian women in Portugal and the difficulties of learning the Dutch language, which, if properly worked in conjunction with the host societies, may revert in favor of the integration of immigrants in Brazil.
