Comunicação empresarial em contexto intercultural Portugal-China: ultrapassar barreiras

Abstract

Este relatório foi elaborado no âmbito do estágio curricular do segundo ano do Mestrado em Estudos Interculturais Português/Chinês: Tradução, Formação e Comunicação Empresarial, do Instituto de Letras e Ciências Humanas da Universidade do Minho, estágio este que se realizou na empresa Moisés Lima Cortiças Co.Lda., durante um período de seis meses. Este trabalho pretende relatar os problemas encontrados ao longo da minha experiência de estágio na referida empresa, nomeadamente os que foram surgindo no âmbito da comunicação empresarial em contexto intercultural. A minha principal função durante este estágio foi a de fomentar a comunicação entre a empresa Moisés Lima Cortiças Co. Lda. e as empresas chinesas compradoras, ou potenciais compradoras, de cortiça, com as quais estabeleci contactos e relações comerciais. Esta experiência permitiu-me pôr em prática os conhecimentos adquiridos ao longo da parte curricular do Mestrado. Assim, ao longo deste relatório pretendo apresentar a minha experiência através do ponto de vista da comunicação empresarial, neste caso inserido no âmbito do mercado da cortiça, com algumas reflexões relativas às novas variáveis presentes no contexto internacional e às barreiras de comunicação daí derivadas, as quais assumem cada vez mais importância nas relações comerciais entre empresas sediadas em diferentes espaços geográficos e, acima de tudo, culturais. Tendo em conta que a empresa onde estagiei se dedica à produção e venda de cortiça, apresentarei ainda uma reflexão sobre o estado deste mercado, tanto na China como em Portugal.

This Report was written in the scope of the internship taken in the second year of the Masters Degree Course in Intercultural Studies Portuguese/Chinese: Translation, Training and Entrepreneurs Communication, of the Arts and Letters Institute of the University of Minho. The internship was held in the company Moisés Lima Cortiças, Co. Lda., during the period of six months. This report will present the difficulties arisen during the internship, especially the ones arisen from the entrepreneur’s communication in an intercultural context. The purpose of this internship was to promote the relations between the Portuguese company and Chinese buyers, with whom I came later to establish contact and business relations. As such, this internship allowed me to apply the knowledge acquired in the curricular part of the Masters Degree Course. Throughout this report I will address my experience through a business communication point of view, in the scope of the cork market, exposing some thoughts relative to the new variables present in the international context and to the communication barriers derived from it. These communication barriers have been gradually assuming a higher importance in the commercial relations between companies situated in different geographic and, most of all, cultural territories. Furthermore, taking under consideration that the company where I have taken my internship works in the production and sale of cork, I will also present some observations on the state of this market both in China and Portugal.
