Given the growing concern about animal welfare, it has gained importance in the scientific world the use of environmental enrichment - the improvement of social and inanimate conditions to which the animals are subjected. In a local perspective, wildlife recovery centers take a key role in the recovery of individuals and public awareness and, as such, require increasingly methodologies of environmental enrichment to reduce high levels of stress to which the animals are subjects in captivity. In this study it was sought to develop and test methodologies for environmental enrichment that could be applied in this context, specifically in birds of prey, a group that is known to be sensitive to the conditions of captivity. We studied 25 individuals recovering a total of 9 species. Environmental enrichment carried out was threefolded - physical structures, food and socializing, always starting from a hypothetical stressful situation (less enriched) to a situation of greater comfort, more similar to the natural conditions of the species under study. To determine the effectiveness of the study it was used two measures of well-being: animal behavior and body condition. The species Athene noctua showed the most significant results from a behavioral point of view, having significantly reduced behaviors typically associated with stress, and possibly was the most sensitive species to such enrichments. From the different enrichments presented, the Food Enrichment presented the the stronger response and, it was obtained significant differences to positive behavioral detected in 2 of the 4 study groups. It was also determined that the structures more preferably elected by the animals in study were platforms. It was also determined within the different options of surfaces available in various structures, wood surfaces were the most chosen.
