Interpretações da situação do Jogo do Ultimato por parte dos jogadores: um estudo qualitativo

Abstract

O jogo do Ultimato é uma situação que tem sido muito utilizada na investigação sobre tomada de decisão em situações sociais. Uma das lacunas identificadas na investigação sobre as decisões nesta situação é a interpretação que as pessoas fazem da situação. Este estudo analisa estas interpretações. Procedeu-se à implementação do Jogo do Ultimato em formato presencial com duplas de jogadores que não se conheciam, seguidas da realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas focadas nos raciocínios subjacentes à tomada de decisão durante as 18 jogadas do Jogo do Ultimato. Os resultados sugerem que os jogadores complementam esta situação social mínima com informação acerca da situação social e da relação entre os dois jogadores, da propriedade da quantia a dividir e dos objetivos do procedimento da investigação.

The Ultimate game has been largely used in investigating the decision making in social situations, One of the gaps/problems identified in investigating decisions in this situation is the way people interpret the situation. This study analizes these interpretations. The method used was to implemente the Ultimate Game with pairs of players who didn't know each other , then there were semi-structures interviews, which focused on the underlying reasoning to the decision making during the 18 moves of the game. The results suggest that the players complement this minimum social situation with information about the social situation and the relationship between both players, the property of the amount to divide and also the aims of the investigation procedure.
