A cítara antiga guqin como simbolismo cultural na tradição chinesa

Abstract

A música é um som que pode comunicar com a alma. O guqin era um cítara tocada pela classe mais erudita na China Antiga. Sendo um instrumento com uma base filosófica, perpetuou-se ao longo dos tempos, pelo que entender o espírito do guqin é entender parte da cultura tradicional chinesa. Como instrumento tradicional com a sua longa história, o guqin significa muito para os chineses. É pois uma tarefa fundamental assegurar o seu desenvolvimento futuro. Por outro lado, enquanto principiante de guqin eu debati-me com inúmeros problemas no meu processo de aprendizagem. Num momento em que cada vez mais estrangeiros procuram aprender a tocar guqin, esta dissertação poderá constituir um pequeno contributo no sentido de ajudar a aceder a um melhor conhecimento deste notável instrumento.

Music is a voice which can communicate with the soul. As an instrument of a singular nature, the guqin has a unique place in the long history of China. It is an instrument which has a philosophical base, and therefore it should be understood in close relation with Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism. Furthermore, the guqin has also had a significant impact on Chinese aesthetics. In the times of Ancient China, the guqin was the instrument of the literati, a social class with significant cultural impact. Hence, the understanding of the culture surrounding this instrument is essential for the understanding of the Chinese traditional culture. With the increasing cultural exchange of our times, more and more foreigners have started learning to play the guqin. To open up a path for the development of the guqin in the future has thus become the main purpose of all who dedicate themselves to the study of this instrument. As an enthusiast beginner of guqin, I hope my dissertation can make a small contribution to find this path.
