Estudo de adequação da Vieira de Castro à norma NP 4457:2007: sistemas de gestão de investigação, desenvolvimento e inovação

Abstract

A inovação é o motor da economia atual. A consolidação de qualquer empresa no mercado, apenas é possível pela adoção de uma cultura de procura por produtos, processos, técnicas de marketing e organizacionais inovadores. A Norma Portuguesa NP 4457:2007 – Sistemas de Gestão da Investigação, Desenvolvimento e Inovação (IDI) procura definir os requisitos de um sistema de gestão da IDI eficaz, permitindo às organizações que a implementam, definir a sua política de IDI e alcançar os objetivos pretendidos. A presente tese de mestrado contemplou a realização de um estágio de aproximadamente 6 meses na Vieira de Castro – Produtos Alimentares, maior produtor nacional de bolachas, na qual se prendeu avaliar a adequação da mesma à norma NP 4457. Para tal foi aplicado o ciclo PDCA (Plan-Do- Check-Act), que contempla uma primeira fase de avaliação do estado da inovação na empresa, seguindo-se a implementação de alterações ao sistema de gestão de IDI existente. Por último, foram identificadas várias ações de verificação, melhoria e correção que serão implementadas no futuro. É de referir que pela natureza e curta duração do estágio, bem como pela complexidade de algumas dessas ações, não foi possível a sua implementação no período a que este trabalho se reporta. Apesar da empresa realizar habitualmente várias atividades de inovação, verificou-se que não existia uma sistematização das mesmas, e como tal o SGIDI existente poderia ser significativamente melhorado, especialmente ao nível da gestão das interfaces e da geração de ideias e aproveitamento das mesmas. O contínuo aperfeiçoamento do SGIDI apenas será possível através de um maior comprometimento por parte da gestão de topo, pela definição de responsabilidades e procedimentos no que diz respeito ao registo das atividades de IDI e pela agilização da comunicação a vários níveis, de forma a facilitar a difusão do conhecimento gerado.

Innovation is the engine of the current economy. The consolidation of any company in the market is only possible by the adoption of a culture of pursuit for new products, processes, marketing and organizational techniques. The Portuguese Standard NP 4457: 2007 - Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Management Systems defines the guidelines for establishing an effective RDI management system, allowing the organizations to define its RDI policy and achieve the desired objetives. This master thesis comprises an internship of about six months in Vieira de Castro – Produtos Alimentares, the largest biscuits producer in Portugal. The goal of the internship was to assess the company adequacy to the NP 4457 standard. For that purpose the PDCA cycle (Plan-Do-Check-Act) was used, which includes a first phase to evaluate the innovation status at the company, and the following implementation of changes in the RDI management system. At last, several actions that include verification, improvement and corrections have been identified and these will be implemented in the future. It is important to notice that given the nature and short-term of this internship, as well as the complexicity of some of these actions, it was not possible to implement them during the internship period. Although the company usually conducts several innovation activities, it was found that these activities are not systematized according to the NP 4457: 2007, thus its RDI management system could be significantly improved, especially regarding the interface management and the generation and valorization of ideas. The continuous improvement of the RDI will only be possible through a greater commitment of the company top management, by defining responsibilities and procedures regarding the RDI activities and for facilitating the communication at several levels to enable the dissemination of the generated knowledge.
