Resumo(s): | Antimicrobial textiles have been developed to control bacteria proliferation. Although some methods have been proposed to assess their antimicrobial activity, wound dressings are not referred on the methods scope. Hence, this work aim to provide adaptations those methods, to allow the detection of the efficiency of antibacterial textiles for wound healing proposes. Environmental conditions representative of those present at the wound-site (higher volumes and concentrations of bacteria, and culture medium) were tested. The humidly was the environmental factor that cause more changes on the activity of the agents. The results obtained suggest that it is possible to use environmental conditions, for the in vitro screening of antimicrobial activity of textiles, more representatives of those found on the wound-bed. |
