A viagem como génese e modo de aprendizagem em arquitetura a experiência de uma viagem ”No Oriente”

Abstract

O presente trabalho reflete sobre a arquitetura a partir de uma experiência pessoal, uma viagem ao Oriente. A experimencia estrutura-se enquanto parte de aprendizagem, sendo na casa da viagem consequente à vivência no espaço e no tempo a par da inquietação gerada pelo confronto e reflexão. Na transversalidade da investigação procura-se apresentar abordagens de relação entre o sujeito e o lugar vinculadas ao contexto cultural com que nos confrontamos. O objeto de estudo é assim a experiência da viagem ao Sudeste Asiático, englobando as diferentes ações, desde o desejo de viajar, o planeamento da viagem, a experiência in loco, os registos gráficos efetuados e a posterior interpretação dos fenómenos e espaços vivenciados. Neste seguimento o trabalho organiza-se em dois capítulos: Carácter da Viagem e A Viagem no Oriente. O primeiro capítulo averigua um contexto teórico que referencia o exercício de aprendizagem pela viagem, nomeadamente na sua mais-valia face à construção de uma ideia e prática da arquitetura. O segundo capítulo, sendo o cerne do trabalho, expõe, interpreta e reflete sobre a Viagem realizada. Ainda neste capítulo manifesta-se os objetivos da investigação, nomeadamente a capacidade de evidenciar e organizar a aprendizagem, expressa numa sequência cronológica e aproximação empírica aos lugares, seja nos elementos que o conformam sejam nas modalidades de apropriação que estes proporcionam. A relação entre o sujeito e o lugar, e consequente perceção e registo gráfico, destacam a relevância do diário de bordo. Uma vez que para registar um lugar é necessário pensar sobre o que se vê, não só para o desenhar como para o entender. Com estre trabalho pretendemos expor uma forma de perceber e aprender arquitetura como modo complementar à formação académica.

The present work falls upon the architecture from a personal experience, one trip to the East. The process of experimentation is structured upon the subsequent learning from the experience comprehended within the space and time of the journey and following uneasiness, generated from confrontation and reflection. In the investigation’s transversality, there’s an intention to present approaches of relations between the subject and the place linked to the cultural context we face. The object of study is, therefore, the experience of travelling to Southeast Asia, covering the different actions, since the will to travel, the planning of the journey, the experience in loco, the graphic records made and the following interpretation of the phenomena and the experienced spaces. In this sequence, the work is organized in two chapters: Feature of the Journey and The Journey to the East. The first chapter explores the theoretical context that concerns the learning exercise throughout the journey, namely its importance regarding the construction of an idea and the practice of architecture. The second chapter, being the main focus of the work, exposes, interprets and reflects upon the trip that took place. Still in this chapter it is shown the goals of the investigation, namely the ability to point out and organize a learning method, expressed in a chronological sequence and empiric approximation to the sites, whether in the elements that conform it, or in the appropriation modalities that these provide. The relation between the subject and the place, and following perception and graphic log, point out the relevance of the daily log, since that, in order to log a place, it is needed to think about what is being seen, not only for the purpose of drawing, but also in order to understand it. With this work we intend to show a way to understand and learn architecture as a way of complementing the academic education.
