Impacto de aspectos culturais em contexto de trabalho

Abstract

Desde o estabelecimento das relações diplomáticas entre a China e Portugal, em 8 de fevereiro de 1979, grandes realizações foram feitas na cooperação bilateral política, económica, comercial, cultural, educativa, científica e tecnológica, até à assinatura de uma parceria estratégica global em 2005. Ambos os países atribuem grande importância aos laços sino-portugueses, desejam reforçar o intercâmbio e promover a confiança política mútua. Há também cada vez mais empresas chinesas a investir em Portugal, o que torna este o quarto maior destino de investimento da China na Europa. A implementação da estratégia "Faixa Económica e Rota-da-Seda Marítima" pelo governo chinês trará mais oportunidades para Portugal e para os países de língua portuguesa. No entanto, o aprofundamento da cooperação entre os dois países traz também desafios. Tanto a China como Portugal têm uma longa história e tradições culturais diferentes, que podem causar divergências e conflitos com impacto nos investimentos mútuos e operações comerciais internacionais. A experiência de estágio durante três meses no Banco da China em Lisboa deu-me a oportunidade de observar uma empresa chinesa a atuar em Portugal, do ponto de vista da comunicação intercultural. Esta experiência constituiu um ponto de partida para analisar as diferenças culturais entre a China e Portugal, à luz de uma série de teorias focadas ao longo do mestrado, e refletir sobre alguns problemas de comunicação intercultural que as empresas multinacionais enfrentam.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Portugal in February 8th 1979, great achievements were made in bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, economy, trade, culture, education, science and technology, until the two countries established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2005. Both sides attach great importance to the Sino-Portuguese ties and wish to strengthen further exchanges and jointly promote political mutual trust. Also, more and more Chinese companies are investing in Portugal, which made this China's fourth largest investment destination in Europe. The implementation of China's "Belt and Road" initiative will bring greater opportunities to Portugal and to the Portuguese-speaking countries. However, the deepening of exchanges between the two countries also represent challenges. Both China and Portugal have a long history and different cultural traditions, the mutual investments and cross-border business operations will certainly face cultural differences and conflicts. The experience of three-month’ internship in the Bank of China, Lisbon branch, gave me an opportunity to perceive a Chinese enterprise working in Portugal, from a cross-cultural point of view. It was a starting point to analyze the cultural differences between China and Portugal through multiple cross-cultural theories and to reflect on some of the multinational companies successful cross-cultural communication issues.

中葡两国自 1979 年2 月8 日建交以来，两国在政治、经贸、文化、教育、科技等各 领域的合作都取得了巨大的成就，并在2005 建立了全面战略伙伴关系。中葡双方均 高度重视两国的关系，希望进一步加强交流合作，共同促进两国政治互信和人民间的 友谊。特别是在最近几年，越来越多的中国企业来到葡萄牙投资，葡萄牙已经成为中 国在欧洲第四大投资目的地。随着中国的 “一带一路” 策略的实施，葡萄牙和葡语国 家都将面临更大的机遇然而，两国交往的深入也带来了更多的挑战。中葡两国拥有着 悠久辉煌但风格迥异的文化，在跨文化交际中，必然会产生一些文化的碰撞与冲突。 无论对于在葡投资的中国企业还是在中国投资的葡萄牙企业，都面临着文化差异对企 业跨国经营的影响。因此，我选择中国大型跨国企业中国银行里斯本分行作为实习单 位，进行为期三个月的实习。通过这段实习经历，我对在葡萄牙的中国企业的整体现 状，特别是中国银行里斯本分行在跨文化背景下遇到的管理问题有了深入的了解。本 文将以中国银行的实习经历为切入点，通过自己在硕士课程中学到的一些跨文化理论 分析中葡文化差异，并反思一些跨国企业成功进行跨文化交际所需要注意的问题。
