Regeneração Cultural – Reabilitação do Teatro Narciso Ferreira, em Riba de Ave

Abstract

O presente trabalho de investigação teórico-prático pretende abordar a problemática da intervenção no edifício do Teatro Narciso Ferreira, situado na Avenida Narciso Ferreira, entrada principal da Freguesia de Riba de Ave, no concelho de Vila Nova de Famalicão. Este edifício detém um papel referencial na vila, apesar da sua imagem exterior deteriorada e da completa ruina do interior. Em todo o país está fortemente presente uma redução populacional nas regiões periféricas dos centros urbanos, o que conduz a uma degradação de edifícios patrimoniais que em tempos assumiam papéis importantes na cultura e economia locais. Torna-se assim necessário difundir a consciência da necessidade de preservação do património edificado, uma política que permita captar mais investimentos para estas regiões, para que a sociedade atual posso usufruir culturalmente e partilhar a história do local com as gerações futuras. Tendo em conta estes objetivos, foi desenvolvida uma proposta de renovação do edifício e de melhoria do seu programa, tornando-se necessário realizar uma reflexão sobre a região onde se encontra inserido, de forma a compreender a sua origem e história. De acordo com o natureza do edifício e com o crescimento populacional da região, é proposto um programa no qual é mantido a função do auditório principal, apoiada por um aumento de área dos camarins e da entrada principal. Como programa adicional surge a administração, loja, salas de apoio, café concerto, receção dos artistas, uma segunda sala de espetáculos, e duas zonas de estar exteriores. A criação do projeto deste teatro assenta na leitura da sua história como principal instrumento de análise e pesquisa. O seu sistema construtivo, suas patologias e materialidade foram igualmente tidas em atenção, de forma a apresentar soluções que melhor se enquadram nas exigências de qualidade da intervenção arquitectónica.

The present theoretical-practical research aims to address the problem of intervention in the building of the Narciso Ferreira Theater, located on Avenida Narciso Ferreira, main entrance of the parish of Riba de Ave, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Famalicão. This building holds a referential role in the village, despite its deteriorated exterior image and the complete ruin of the interior. Across the country there is a strong population reduction in peripheral regions of urban centers, which leads to a degradation of heritage buildings that once played important roles in local culture and economy. It is therefore necessary to raise awareness of the need to preserve the built heritage, a policy that allows to attract more investment to these regions, so that today's society can enjoy cultural and share the history of the place with future generations. Taking into account these objectives, a proposal was made to renovate the building and improve its program, making it necessary to reflect on the region where it is located, in order to understand its origin and history. According to the nature of the building and the population growth of the region, a program is proposed in which the function of the main auditorium is maintained, supported by an increase of the area of the dressing rooms and the main entrance. As an additional program comes the administration, store, support rooms, coffee concert, reception of the artists, a second show room, and two outdoor seating areas. The creation of this theater project is based on reading its history as the main instrument of analysis and research. Its constructive system, its pathologies and materiality have also been taken into account in order to present solutions that best fit the quality requirements of the architectural intervention.
