Informação e imaginário: inserindo uma nova perspectiva interdisciplinar em pesquisas sobre o fenômeno informacional

Abstract

A informação e o imaginário possuem características semelhantes. Ambos fazem parte da estrutura da história humana e situam-se na perspectiva de significação do mundo. Por meio da informação o indivíduo, dentre outras coisas, constrói sentido e compõe sua historia de mundo; por meio do imaginário, ele também faz a mesma coisa. Duas faces da mesma moeda, como Jano, o deus das transições e passagens. Neste artigo pretende-se caracterizar esses dois elementos e integrá-los reforçando o entendimento de que o imaginário pode se consolidar como uma estratégia para a compreensão dos comportamentos e práticas informacionais. O resultado desse esforço consolida na Ciência da Informação uma perspectiva interdisciplinar que traz a dimensão simbólica, aqui representada na perspectiva durandiana, para dentro do campo formando uma unidade de conhecimento que visa compreender a complexidade do mundo atual. Considera-se que esse alinhamento pode vir a configurar uma área transdisciplinar abrindo novas perspectivas de pesquisas sobre o fenômeno informacional.

Information and imaginary have similar characteristics. Both are part of the structure of human history and are situated in the perspective of giving meaning to the world. Through information, the individual, among other things, builds meaning and composes his history of the world; by means of the imaginary, he also does the same thing. Two sides of the same coin, like Jano, the god of transitions and passages. This article characterizes these two elements and integrates them reinforcing the understanding that the imaginary can consolidate itself as a strategy for understanding behaviors and informational practices. The result of this effort consolidates in Information Science an interdisciplinary perspective that brings the symbolic dimension, represented here in the Durandian perspective, into the field, forming a unit of knowledge that aims to understand the complexity of the world today. It is considered that this alignment can configure a transdisciplinary area opening new perspectives of research about the informational phenomenon.
