Conceções de docentes de Botânica sobre o currículo e a formação no ensino superior

Abstract

O que é e quem faz o currículo? Este trabalho tem como objetivo conhecer as perspetivas de professores do ensino superior sobre a definição do currículo nesse nível de ensino. Para isso, foram entrevistados quinze professores universitários da área de botânica de quatro Universidades, sendo três brasileiras e uma portuguesa, pretendendo-se identificar as suas conceções relativamente à construção do currículo relacionando o papel de professor, aquilo que ensina e a formação dos seus alunos, através das seguintes questões: 1. O professor deve participar na construção do currículo?; 2. Qual a importância do currículo na formação do futuro professor?; e, 3. Como o currículo influencia a formação do futuro profissional? Os dados recolhidos foram analisados utilizando a análise textual discursiva descrita por Moraes e Galiazzi (2011). Como resultado destaca-se que a maioria dos professores entrevistados ainda considera o currículo um plano de conteúdos que o professor define, o que espelha uma visão bastante tradicional. Contudo, alguns dos professores referem a possibilidade de um currículo flexível e elaborado em função dos estudantes, considerando a especificidade da sua formação e tendo em vista o desempenho de uma profissão. A partir daqui, é possível levantar a possibilidade de uma flexibilização curricular que considere não só a vertente académica, mas também a dimensão profissional da formação dos alunos.

What is and who does the curriculum? This paper aims to know the perspectives of higher education professors about the definition of the curriculum at this level of education. For that, fifteen university professors of the botany area of four Universities (3 from Brazil and 1 from Portugal) were interviewed, in order to identify their conceptions regarding the construction of the curriculum. Relating the role of the professors, what they teach and the training of their students, there were 3 questions: 1. Should the professor participate in the construction of the curriculum?; 2. What is the importance of the curriculum in the training of the future teachers?; and, 3. How does the curriculum influence the training of the future professionals? The collected data were analysed using the discursive textual analysis described by Moraes and Galiazzi (2011). As a result, it should be noted that most of the professors interviewed still consider the curriculum as a contents plan that the professors defines, which mirrors a rather traditional view. However, some of the professors refer to the possibility of a flexible and student-oriented curriculum, considering the specific nature of their training for a profession. From here, it is possible to raise the possibility of a curriculum flexibilization that considers not only academic aspects, but also the professional dimension of the students' training.
