Portuguese immigration to France has been a known phenomenon since the beginning of the 20th century. Hindered by the Salazarist dictatorship or by unfavorable immigration policies, portuguese immigration to France never ceased thanks to illegal immigration networks which, even if they are no longer used today, constitute an important stage of immigration to the point that the immigration journey took the name of "o salto" which literally translates as "the jump". Thousands of Portuguese did "o salto" in search of a potential better life. Arrived in France, portuguese immigrants often live in shantytowns consisting of shanties. There, they gather and help each other and create the first unofficial networks of solidarity. I learned through my research the history of the Portuguese in France but also the history of France and its Portuguese. Portuguese immigrants are seen abroad as hardworking and helpful people, proud and discreet. It is thanks to these qualities that they are one of the nationalities of immigration that are best integrated into French society. They easily integrated and were quickly accepted however there is a problem of assertion of the Portuguese culture in France. The need for the Portuguese to integrate the French society when they arrived in erased the affirmation of their beautiful culture. For many years they have set themselves aside from society and have kept for themselves their language, their tradition, their custom, etc. It is thanks to the descendants of immigrants that the tendency tends to be reversed, today, at the time of globalization, everyone affirms what it is. The lusodescendants, they are not afraid to say: they are of Portuguese origin and they are proud. I went looking for the translation of this pride in the streets of Paris. I went to try to understand how the Portuguese were asserting themselves, by what means and in what areas. How Portuguese immigration contributed to the cultural enrichment of France. Thus, I studied the diffusion and promotion of Portuguese official and popular culture in Paris.
