O ensino e a formação na área do jornalismo em Portugal: “crise de crescimento” e notas programáticas

Abstract

Quais as linhas que devem orientar hoje a formação em jornalismo, considerando as profundas mudanças que vêm ocorrendo no plano económico, político e cultural? Tendo por base o contexto histórico português, este texto procura analisar os desafios com que se confronta a formação em jornalismo em Portugal, dando especial ênfase às relações entre a teoria e a prática e propondo algumas linhas de acção dirigidas à comunidade científica e académica mais envolvida na formação em jornalismo e nos estudos jornalísticos.

Which guidelines may prevail in journalism education, in the framework of the huge economic, political and cultural changes in recent times? Taking into account the Portuguese historic context, this paper analyzes the challenges faced by journalism education in Portugal, emphasizing the relationships between theory and practice. It also makes some propositions to scientific and academic community involved in journalism education and journalism studies.
