Nacimiento, evolución y desarrollo actual de la geografia social

Abstract

En este artículo se realiza una aproximación a la significación de la Geografía Social dentro de la disciplina geográfica. Se hace un repaso a su evolución histórica desde las primeras aportaciones a finales del siglo XIX hasta las más recientes. Se recogen, además, las definiciones más relevantes que se han hecho sobre esta subdisciplina y se estudian las características de las diferentes escuelas existentes: la alemana, la francesa y la anglosajona. Finalmente, se hace un repaso de la implantación de la Geografía Social en España.

In this article an approach to the meaning of Social Geography within the geographic discipline is made. A review to its historical evolution becomes from the first contributions at the end of century XIX to most recent. It takes shelter, in addition, the definitions more excellent than have become on this subdiscipline and the characteristics of the different existing schools study: German, French and Anglo-Saxon. Finally, a review becomes of the implantation of Social Geography in Spain.
