O cântico do silêncio em la flamme d'une chandelle de Gaston Bachelard

Abstract

Ainda que Bachelard não explicite satisfatoriamente o tema e a vivência do silêncio no seu texto La flamme d’une chandelle (A chama de uma vela — 1961), tal não nos deve impedir que nos interroguemos sobre o referido tema. Com este objetivo, procuraremos, ao longo do nosso estudo e num primeiro momento, rastrear, dos pontos de vista do imaginário (“sonhar os devaneios”) e da filosofia (“pensar os pensamentos”), passagens que de algum modo reflitam o silêncio nas suas manifestações, ainda que mais indizíveis, o que não é, como se admite, uma tarefa fácil porque o silêncio na obra encontra-se ao nível latente. Num segundo momento, procuraremos refletir, do ponto de vista filosófico-hermenêutico, sobre o conjunto de imagens recolhido sobre o silêncio e afins, não deixando de lado a dimensão educacional subjacente ao longo da reflexão

Bachelard, in his text La flamme d’une chandelle (The Flame of a Can­dle) - 1961, does not explicitly address the theme of silence or its experience. However, this should not prevent us from discussing the topic. Bearing this in mind throughout our study, we will first try to trace passages that, somehow, reflect silence and its manifestations, even the most inexpressible ones. We will do so from the point of view of the imaginary (“day dreaming”) and of philo­sophy (“thought thinking”). Admittedly, this is not an easy task since silence is latent in the text. From a philosophical and hermeneutic point of view, we will then try to reflect on a collection of images of silence or associated to silence, without neglecting the educational aspect behind our reflection.
