Democracia-cristã, uma hermenêutica contemporânea

Abstract

O mundo dito globalizado, em boa medida por efeito da aceleração do desenvolvimento tecnológico, da intensificação das comunicações, do aumento do volume das trocas comerciais e do fim do bipolarismo político, trouxe profundas mudanças, económicas, sociais e até ambientais. O revisitar das “velhas ideologias”, sobretudo aquelas que foram forças motrizes para a reconstrução da Europa no Pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial e que levaram mesmo à edificação do quadro institucional europeu – também ele em transformação – justifica-se, tanto mais se atendermos que alguns pensadores estão hoje debruçados sobre os efeitos globais do que comummente se designa de “Neoliberalismo”. Estará, com o atual pontificado de Francisco, a Doutrina Social da Igreja - principal “fonte de inspiração” axiológica, normativa e consequentemente política da Democracia-Cristã – a transformar-se para se vir a reposicionar como visão socio-económico-politico-cultural renovada e à altura das exigências do nosso século? O propósito desta dissertação será o de verificar se, a Democracia-Cristã, ficou arquivada no baú da História das Ideias Políticas ou, pelo contrário, possui, ainda, suficiente plasticidade para se reconfigurar, sem descaracterizações ou perdas da sua identidade matricial – de modo a conseguir dar resposta aos grandes desafios que estão já em marcha no século XXI, sendo portadora de uma relevância própria no quadro da teoria filosófico política. Para o efeito, num primeiro momento, será feita uma revisão da literatura sobre a trajetória histórica, desde o seu surgimento até aos dias de hoje, do quadro “ideopolítico” designado de Democracia-Cristã. Num segundo momento procurar-se-á abstrair as suas principais características contra-distintivas e elaborar, com elas, um instrumento teórico analítico para explorar a fecundidade normativa desse posicionamento socio-económico-politico-cultural. Num terceiro e último momento, aplicar-se-á esse instrumento hermenêutico a desafios que particularmente se colocam hoje nos domínios da economia, do trabalho, da família, do ambiente, da comunidade internacional e os principais desafios políticos hodiernos.

The so-called globalized world, largely due to the acceleration of technological development, the growth of communications, the increase in the trade volume, and the end of political bipolarism, brought about profound economic, social and even environmental changes. The return to “old ideologies”, especially those that were driving forces for the reconstruction of Europe in the Post-World War II and that even led to the construction of the European institutional framework - also in transformation - is justified, all the more if we take into account that some of the scholars are leaning today over the global effects of what is commonly called “Neoliberalism”. With the present Francis pontificate, the Church Social Doctrine – the main axiological, normative, and consequently political “source of inspiration” of the Christian-Democracy - will be transformed to be repositioned as a socio-economic-political-cultural vision renewed and up to the demands of our century? The aim of this dissertation will be to verify if the Christian-Democracy was stored in the chest of the Political Ideas History or, on the contrary, it still has enough plasticity to reconfigure itself, without mischaracterization or loss of its identity matrix - in a way capable to respond to the great challenges that are already underway in the 21st century, having its own relevance within the framework of political philosophical theory. For this purpose, firstly, a review of the literature on the historical trajectory, from its emergence to the present day, of the “ideopolitical” framework called Christian-Democracy is presented. Secondly, the aim was to abstract its main counter-distinctive characteristics and develop, thereafter, an analytical theoretical instrument to explore the normative fruitfulness of this socio-economic-political-cultural position. Last of all, this hermeneutic instrument will be applied to challenges that are present today particularly in the fields of economics, work, family, environment, the international community and the main political challenges today.
