Education happens

Abstract

We learn from books, from a conversation, having coffee with a friend, from all the stories that were told that education and school did not always go hand in hand. Education is a time, political, and geographical process that shows society's projects, ways of life and, for that reason, reflect interests, cultures, identities, ideals, and purposes. Thus, it is possible to study methodologies, pedagogies, diverse and differentiated educational movements. For this reason, we want to highlight and present some reflections on our experience: a semester spent outside school, in dialogue with the surroundings, involving local institutions and popular knowledge.
