This work is part of the project “23 Design Methodology”, which describes the design process applied to creating two-dimensional polygonal artefacts for the construction of three-dimensional forms to support scenographic spaces and presents a design method applied to the educational activity. If, on the one hand, the design process and the design of the artefact are related. On the other hand, to justify its normative position regarding the design process, a design methodology was used that considered the versatility of the projected artefact. Several polygonal forms were explored as an enhancement of the research process. After obtaining the artefact’s final design, a workshop was prepared for students of the product design degree at the University of Minho. In this sense, the students, based on the presented work methodology, idealized and prepared a scenographic space for the show “Piano Caos”, organized by the Educational Service – Casa da Música. The project developed by the students approaches the design process suggested by the authors, based on (i) selected artefact; (ii) articulation between usage and language; finally, (iii) the combination of artefacts in the scenic space.por
