Cultura de rua e espaços plurais na formação artística : investigação-acção no 1.º ciclo

Abstract

A presente investigação trata dos conceitos de Cultura de Rua, Espaços Plurais e Cidadania, e apresenta uma intervenção curricular, que explora histórias de vida de uma comunidade e tradições artísticas, através de algumas estratégias de ensino/aprendizagem em Expressão Plástica, na Escola E.B.1/J.I. de Benguiados, Vila do Conde, numa turma de 3.º ano, com dezassete crianças, entre os meses de Setembro a Dezembro de 2006. O estudo apresenta uma revisão de literatura a nível nacional e internacional, sobre questões de Cidadania, Formação de Professores e Educação Multicultural, tendo em atenção a diversidade cultural presente no espaço escolar. Em termos metodológicos, foram descritas e justificadas as razões da escolha do método de investigação - acção, identificado o contexto da pesquisa, a amostra, os instrumentos usados para a recolha de dados e as questões éticas. Os três ciclos da investigação - acção são descritos, analisados e interpretados, e verificou-se que esta investigação enfatizou os saberes familiares em contexto sala de aula, através da colaboração directa e indirecta de familiares, de uma funcionária da escola e do uso de estratégias multi/interculturais, como os diálogos intergeracionais, que permitiram descobrir novas informações, experimentar novos conceitos, novas estratégias tal como análise de imagens e artefactos, que contribuíram para uma mudança de atitudes e comportamentos dos intervenientes. Conclui-se também que, as actividades e estratégias artísticas promoveram e facilitaram o diálogo intercultural, as capacidades e competências expressivas, críticas e comunitativas das crianças e ajudaram-nas a valorizar questões das suas próprias vidas, levando-as a desenhar, pensar, experimentar, decidir e resolver problemas do seu quotidiano, sempre na base da descoberta e da procura de soluções mais simples e adequadas para uma cidadania activa.

This research addresses the concepts of Street Culture, Multi-use Spaces, and Citizenship. It presents a curricular intervention that explores the life histories of a community as well as its artistic traditions, by means of some teaching/learning strategies in the subject of Plastic Expression. The study was carried out at the Primary School Escola E.B.1/J.I. in Benguiados, Vila do Conde, in northern Portugal, with a Year 3 class of seventeen children, between September and December 2006. The research includes a review of literature, both national and international, on citizenship, teacher training and multicultural education, the latter with regard to the cultural diverse nature of schools. The choice of action research as methodology is described and justified with regard to the research context, sample, the tools used for data collection and ethical questions. The three cycles of action research are described, analysed and interpreted, showing that this research underlines the familiar touches that are present in the classroom context through the direct and indirect collaboration of parents and relatives, a member of the school’s non-teaching staff and the use of inter/multicultural strategies, such as intergenerational dialogues. This allowed new information to be discovered and new concepts and strategies to be explored; for example, the analysis of images and artefacts, which contributed to a change in attitudes and behaviours in those who took part. It was also concluded that the art strategies and activities promoted and facilitated intercultural dialogue among the children, as well as expressive, critical and communicative abilities and competences. This helped them to evaluate issues in their own lives, leading them to draw, think, experiment, decide, and solve problems faced on a daily basis, with a continual sense of discovery and search for the simplest and most fitting solutions so that each could be an active citizen.
