do mundo.
Song of Two Humans e Man with a Movie Camera, de F.W. Murnau e Dziga Vertov, respetivamente.
autonomia e protagonismo.
Architecture and cinema are two disciplines that generate images of representation and definition of the world. The building and the camera are artificial devices that act upon the physical environment, manipulating it and establishing narratives that provoke on those who inhabit it juxtapositions between the objective perception of reality and the subjective image of experience. As this superimposition is derived by logics of montage and composition that articulate parts and fragments, the ideals that described the first half of the twentieth century will first be acknowledged, starting with the analysis of works by Le Corbusier associated with the cinematographic productions Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans and Man with a Movie Camera, by F.W. Murnau and Dziga Vertov, respectively. Ways of seeing, thinking and, consequently, constructing were generated from a perspective that valued the movement associated with vision prioritising a universal ideology. The association of images subservient to a whole caused a coherent language and, therefore, a panoramic construction that led the modern project. In the second half of the century, although the idea of a whole is maintained, the gaze is directed, not towards the great image, but towards what is particular, the idea of the fragment that gains autonomy and protagonism. The idea of coherence and composition becomes linked to the association of autonomous images, capable of provoking distinct perceptions of the various wholes instituted now in each of the fragments. An approximate vision, a zoom, is therefore adopted on the reality influenced by the thoughts of the architects Alison and Peter Smithson that will be articulated with Michelangelo Antonioni in Blow-Up and Alfred Hitchcock in Rear Window. |
