Resumo(s)Bullying can be defined as the relationship of intentional violence between peers that is maintained and repeated due to the victims’ inability to defend themselves and react to the attacks. When this occurs at school, we are talking about children and young people, often students of the same age who attend the same classes. Researchers from diverse areas of study have focused on what justifies such a relationship and what can be short – and long – term effects to understand the phenomenon and find prevention and intervention strategies. Some studies reveal that when students are unable to acquire the contents or skills considered necessary to carry on to the following year, deviant behavior transpires (Pereira, 1997; Rebolo Marques, 2016; Saraiva et al., 2019). In this chapter the authors present the reflections of seventeen young adults that were involved in reported episodes of school bullying as aggressors, victims and/or both during schooling. We highlight the differences between their school trajectories and that of ten other young adults that did not participate in reported episodes of school bullying. Study participants are of both genders, aged between 21 and 25 years.
