funcionais e programáticas do projecto arquitectónico.
individual do espaço.
This research intended to study the phenomenon colour and its relationship and importance in Architecture. This study was conducted through the systemization of the underlying theoretical foundations for phenomenological understanding and aesthetics of colour trying to demonstrate how this depends on and interacts with light, matter, texture and time. Also involved the analysis of different uses and applications of colour in architecture, through theoretical investigation of different phenomena or practices used throughout its history. Thus, we understand how colours influence the organization of physical reality, in formal and spatial aspects of architecture, having an important role in the perception of space, directly influenced by the existing light, the architectural materiality and personal understanding of the observer. We intend to demonstrate that the colour used in harmony with light, matter and texture will always be valid as long as applied in accordance with the spatial, functional and programmatic requirements of architectural design. This study attempted to systematize the learned information through critical analysis of the use of colour in preschool architecture in Portuguese design. The research focuses on the analysis of three school projects: Jardim-Escola João de Deus, by the architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, the Escola do 1º Ciclo of Paredes de Coura, by Atelier Bouça and Centro Escolar de São Frutuoso, by the Architect Nuno Portela. Through the analysis of these projects we aim to understand the use colour in their relationship with light, matter, and time in shaping the spaces of permanence / circulation and interior / exterior, trying to understand if colour participate in the program or in the construction and perception of space. This work underlies the need for research the possibility of a chromatic practice in the architecture process, in the definition of space and with the program, seeking to demonstrate that colour cannot be seen as a minor element in the project but as a major factor in visual communication and individual experience of space. With this project we understood the importance of the relationship of colour with light, material and perception of time and how these elements affect our experience of architectural space. |
