intervenção pedagógica caracterizou-se como um projeto de investigação-ação de índole
qualitativo.
enunciado, e, deste modo, perceber o problema, conseguindo assim distinguir a informação
empregando apenas as quatro operações.
This project displayed an investigative journey in a class of the basic school, and aimed to understand the difficulties that students had in different stages of Polya (1995) model throughout problem solving as well as working distinct stages in order to eliminate existent flaws. Thus I tried to answer the following questions: Q1 How do students solve problems?; Q2- What difficulties do students demonstrated during problem solving?; Q3- How do students developed throughout the pedagogical intervention in their ability to solve problems? The educational intervention was characterized as an action-research project of qualitative nature. During interventions various instruments of data collection were used, such as: observation, using audiovisual recordings, teacher-intern diary subdivided into daily records and reflection, productions of students and, finally, a reflection rubric, using the most appropriate teaching methods. To this end, the work began with a problem in order to see how students would solved it, thus allowing a detailed understanding of the existing difficulties in the stages of the Polya model. The following interventions were used to explore in detail each stage of problem solving, in order to fill and overcome the found gaps. Thus, I have provided various problems that would enable to work the understanding of the problem, establishing and executing a plan and the verification of the results. At the end of the interventions, students already had methods to analyse and study the problem and thus solving the problem, meaning they were able to distinguish the accessory information from the elementary and relevant one. In what concerns the establishment and execution of the plan, those who initially manifested difficulties at this level, began to implement strategies, not employing only the four operations. The problem which allowed the first contact with some resolution strategies was important because from this, students realized that there are different strategies, applying them in the following problem solving, and even finding distinct from those explored. Regarding results verification stage, this was unknown by students. However, after a lot of hard work and resilience, they managed to explain how they thought about the way to fix the problem. |
