As principais ideias
This report has as its main aim the analysis of some technical and musical aspects related to the violin practice, which, in turn, prove to be problematic in teaching, due to the lack of a systematic approach during the instrument classes. The leading guidelines of the project were the search for the balance between the violin and the violinist through a better knowledge of his/her body. This required the investigation of the most suitable movements to get a good energy management, and the control of the sensations during the study, in favor of a well-prepared performance and the students’ well-being. During the intervention lessons the students were told that it is not enough to know only the notes or the fingering of a work. It is also necessary to observe the smallest details and out of them the implicit aspects of the violin practice would arise, such as posture correction, breathing function, non-verbal communication, movements control and their relation to sound quality. Therefore, some exercises were applied to make self-knowledge and breathing control easier. The rhythm of breathing was highlighted in this study because it was proved that it was one of students’ less controlled technical aspects, both in solo instrumental practice and in musical ensemble. Nevertheless, it was proved to be an essential aspect for the musicians to be able to express themselves naturally and is therefore an ally to achieve balance and tranquility during instrumental performance. During the pedagogical intervention several exercises were applied and it was emphasized the importance of making conscious movements while performing so as to find a way to improve some passages by addressing technical and sensorial aspects, through concentration on small details and looking for maximum efficiency and effectiveness from the musician-instrumental point of view. This teaching experience has shown quite positive results and I feel that I have succeeded in providing most of the students with some useful knowledge for the rest of their training as violinists. The results of our investigation revealed that the awareness of these aspects were very important for students to improve their performance and autonomy during their study. |
