longa. The 21st Century School's main function is to prepare students for the future. A future that is closely linked to new ways of communicating, interacting, accessing information and knowledge. At this juncture, promoter of competences to learn independently and in a constructivist perspective, we have teachers belonging to a generation without ICT, who, in addition to being required to adapt to the Digital Age, have to deal with constraints, stress and countless social pressures from various quarters of society. The dissertation that follows, is intended to contribute to the understanding of technologie usage in childhood education contexts by a group of teachers who are in the fourth phase of the teaching career. Guided by an exploratory approach of a descriptive nature, we revisit aspects such as age, years of service, initial and continuing training, teacher identity and use of ICT in individual and professional terms. To collect data, we used two surveys of the Focus Group type and questionnaire per interview, which provided essential information that we examined by crossing the documentary analysis with the bibliography of reference authors in the researched subjects. The study allowed the identification of phenomena referred in the literature as teacher identity crisis, physical and psychological limitations, disenchantment, absence of ICT training, relational constraints with parents and hierarchical superiors, mismatch between legal norms and teaching practice. On the other hand, it was possible to construct a parallel between these phenomena and the application of technologies in childhood education, analyzing difficulties, fears, limitations, but also interests and motivations. Last but not least, we highlight the relationship established between the study dimensions - ICT and the fourth phase of the teaching career -, accentuating the importance given by teachers to the use of technologies, in personal and professional terms, the interest demonstrated by the formation of proximity and sharing of experiences in this field, attributing them a character of surplus value, a means to help fill some of the disenchantment in this group, with a long career. |
