In the current conjuncture, companies are increasingly confronted with the need to remain competitive in order to respond to market demands and remain ahead of their competitors, both direct and indirect. However, being able to do so requires an ability to differentiate making it imperative an effort of constant updating through investment in the various areas of To make investments, companies must be able to finance them, either through equity or through external financing, or through a combination of both. A balanced financial structure, in this context, emerges as an important factor in the analysis of the choice of financing by the companies. In this study, we analysed the relationship between fixed capital investment and the financial structure of a sample of 40 micro companies, in the period 2014-2016. In particular, we consider cash flow, that is, the ability of the company to release a management fund that can be used to finance the investment. For a better analysis of the variables in study, the sample was divided between young and adult companies and companies with higher profit retention and lower profit retention. The analysed data suggest that the financial structure has, in deed, an impact on the corporate financing decision. However, the investment decision does not seem to be influenced by the company’s stability. |
