dc.description.abstract | This dissertation analyzes the metaphors of the road and the curve of the road as representations of life and death in Fernando Pessoa's poetry, specifically comparing the presence of such metaphors in the poetry attributed to Alberto Caeiro and to Fernando Pessoa-orthonymous. The starting point chosen for the analysis was the elaboration of the concept of author in the Pessoan universe, which underlies the definition of heteronymic narrative and allows us to demarcate the role that each of the signatures plays in this set. As the theoretical reference for metaphor, we use the system of conceptual metaphor proposed by Lakoff & Johnson (1980). We will also resort to Maria da Glória Padrão's (1973) study on metaphors in Fernando Pessoa's work. In comparing the texts, we seek to identify points of distance and closeness between the poems differently attributed, as well as the function that each of the authors plays within a heteronymic narrative to, in the end, consolidate a perspective that responds to the great intra and intertextual project designed by the hyper-author (Rubim, 2016), author of authors. | por |
