A atividade cultural do Teatro Diogo Bernardes em Ponte de Lima na primeira metade do século XX

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objeto de análise o Teatro Diogo Bernardes, localizado em Ponte de Lima, e a sua atividade cultural na primeira metade do século XX. O Teatro Diogo Bernardes é atualmente uma das maiores atrações do município de Ponte de Lima, com a sua constante e variada programação cultural e ligação à agenda cultural da vila. Este atual status do Teatro levou à necessidade de, neste projeto, perceber como foram os seus primórdios, o tipo de atividades culturais realizadas nesses primeiros anos e o seu impacto em Ponte de Lima. Para tal, é feita uma análise a fontes da época, nomeadamente a imprensa local.

The object of analysis of this work is the Diogo Bernardes Theatre, located in Ponte de Lima, and its cultural activity in the first half of the 20th century. The Diogo Bernardes Theatre is currently one of the biggest attractions in the municipality of Ponte de Lima, with its constant and varied cultural programming and connection to the cultural agenda of the town. This status of the Theatre led to the need, in this project, to understand what its beginnings were like, the type of cultural activities carried out in those first years and their impact in Ponte de Lima. To this end, an analysis is made of sources from that time, namely the local press.
