Transição para a parentalidade: uma revisão sistemática da literatura

Abstract

Tornar-se pai ou mãe é uma transição crítica porque é permanente e tem implicações na saúde dos Pais e desenvolvimento das crianças. É um desafio de grande responsabilidade, pela complexidade de competências e saberes necessários, mas nem todos vivem este processo socialmente apoiados. O conhecimento e a compreensão destas experiências são fundamentais para os enfermeiros poderem apoiar os Pais na vivência desta transição. Revisão sistemática da literatura orientada pela questão de investigação “Qual a experiência de transição para o exercício do papel parental durante o primeiro ano de vida da criança?”. Pesquisa na EBSCO e B-ON; conceitos-chave "Parentalidade" e "Transição"; metodologia PI[C]OD na selecção dos estudos; 17 estudos incluídos. Os resultados evidenciam que o nascimento de uma criança acrescenta stress substancial, custos no bem-estar e mudanças nos estilos de vida dos Pais; os casais incorporam novas identidades e papéis, tornam-se mais tradicionais na divisão de tarefas, aumentam os conflitos e diminui a satisfação marital. Não foram encontrados modelos integradores explicativos desta transição, permanecendo por esclarecer muitas questões da vida dos Pais, que importa investigar.

Becoming a father or a mother is a transition especially critical because it's permanent and has implications not only in the parents' own health but also in the children’s health and development. Is a challenge of great responsibility; due the complexity of necessary competences and knowledge, but not everyone lives this process socially supported.

There's lack investigation concerning the parental experiences during the child's first year, period basilar in its growing/development, when the greatest changes in the social roles of the couple happen, along with needs of redefinition and reorganization of life projects, with care giving patterns that can influence the future parent-child interaction. The knowledge and understanding of these experiences are essential for us to support parents.

Systematic literature review orientated by the investigation question "What is the experience of transition into the parental role practice like during the child's first year?". Effectuates researches on EBSCO c B-ON and used PI[C]OD methodology on the studies' selection; 17 studies that described the mother and/or father's experiences were included, and excluded studies with teenager and ill parents, ill and/or hospitalized children and limited to the 1st pos-birth month's experiences.

The results show that the birth of a child adds substantial stress, costs in the well-being and changes in the lifestyles dos parents. The couples incorporate new identities and roles, become more traditional in their work division, increase their conflicts and the marital satisfaction becomes lower.

No integrator and explicative models of this transition were found, remaining unclear many questions of parents' life, which arc important to deepen.
