Caracterização do doente após evento crítico: impacto da (in)capacidade funcional no grau de dependência no autocuidado

Abstract

O estudo que apresentamos insere-se num paradigma quantitativo e teve como finalidade descrever o fenómeno do autocuidado, mais especificamente, um dos fatores intrínsecos ao sujeito com maior impacto no grau de dependência do doente após evento crítico: a (in) capacidade funcional. O estudo realizou-se entre Março e Junho de 2009, em instituições de saúde da Região Norte de Portugal, sendo a amostra constituída por 40 casos. Concluímos que os doentes desta pesquisa apresentam grau de dependência elevado no autocuidado; os focos diferenciais mais significativos para a reconstrução da autonomia dos doentes inserem-se no domínio da atividade física, com particular relevância para transferir-se e andar; a capacidade funcional do doente para o desempenho das atividades inerentes ao autocuidado tem uma relação significativa com o grau de dependência no autocuidado.

The present study is part of a quantitative paradigm and aimed to describe the phenomenon of self-care, more specifically, one of the factors intrinsic to the subject with greater impact on the patient's degree of dependence after critical event: the functional (in) capacity. The study took place between March and June 2009 in health institutions of northern Portugal, being the sample 40 cases. We conclude that patients in this study show a high degree of dependence on self-care, the most significant difference for the reconstruction of the autonomy of patients fall in the field of physical activity, with particular relevance to the self transference and walking, the patient's functional ability to carry out activities inherent in self-care has a significant relationship with the degree of dependence on self-care.
