Loteamentos de moradias em banda: do interstício à indeterminação

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objeto de estudo os lotes nãoconstruídos em loteamentos de moradias em banda, localizados na cidade de Braga, aprofundando especificamente uma amostra significativa de território da freguesia de Gualtar. Trata-se de uma reflexão que cruza a interpretação escrita, fotográfica e desenhada para aprofundar o conhecimento destes espaços, onde se pretende perceber através de um olhar específico qual o seu significado, de que forma surgem e qual o impacto que têm no território. Constatando que os loteamentos são projetados como um ‘produto acabado’, propõe-se uma nova perspetiva sobre os mesmos, estruturada segundo as características distintivas, dos seus lotes não-construídos, a saber: primeiramente são interpretados como interstícios, objetos da cidade, representados e registados através da lente fotográfica; seguidamente, aprofundam-se enquanto espaços suspensos, inseridos num território com um conjunto complexo de processos de transformação. Aqui entra o ‘tempo’ enquanto dimensão fundamental para o seu entendimento. O desenho revela-se uma ferramenta de pesquisa fundamental, onde percebemos através da análise de perfis-tipo do território, três estados de transformação: Apropriar, Cultivar e Urbanizar. O raciocínio culmina na reflexão sobre a indeterminação, onde percebemos de que forma se aplica ao estudo dos espaços não-construídos, revelando-se a sua maior potencialidade.

This research work aims at studying the not built lots of townhouses in the city of Braga, namely a meaningful sample in the territory of the parish of Gualtar. It is a reflection that intends to interface the written, the photographic and the drawn interpretations of the space so as to deepen the knowledge about these spaces, trying to understand their significance, how they appear and which impact they have on the territory. Noting that the allotments are projected as a ‘finished product’, we suggest to consider them under a new perspective, structured according to the distinctive characteristics of the not built lots, namely the fact that, firstly, they are interpreted as interstices, town objects, represented and registered through a camera lens; secondly, they are deepened as suspended spaces immersed in a territory with a complex aggregate of transformation projects. Here, we must consider ‘time’ as a fundamental dimention for the understanding of this problematic. Drawing reveals itself as a central research tool where we see, through the analysis of the territory profile type, three stages of transformation: Appropriating, Cultivating and Urbanizing. We conclude with a reflection about indeterminacy where we realize how it is applied to the study of not built lots, showing its high potentiality.
