inibitória do indivíduo.
Previous research on the prepotent response inhibition has suggested the involvement of the right inferior frontal gyrus (IFG). Previous research using Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) over the right inferior frontal gyrus, was able to increase inhibitory performance. The tDCS is a technique that allows the modification the excitability of the cerebral cortex and when applied to this executive function enables behavioral change in inhibitory performance of the individuals. The present study aims to verify the effects of unilateral and bilateral tDCS over the right inferior frontal gyrus during a prepotent response inhibition task. For this purpose, 16 participants were recruited to perform the Prepotent Inhibition Task (PIT), during tDCS stimulation. Our results show that the right unilateral anodal stimulation increases the prepotent response inhibition performance, reducing the cost of switching between prepotent and non prepotent responses. |
