Abstract

[Excerpt] Divergences are apparent in relation to climate change and mycotoxins in Magan et al. (2011) and Paterson & Lima (2010) which require clarification. Magan et al. (2011) claimed Paterson & Lima (2010) contained omissions regarding the effects of CO2, temperature and water availability, although Magan et al. (2011) appeared to ignore the discussion about these issues. Magan et al. (2011) did offer a more thorough discussion from in vitro perspectives and, overall, there were differences in emphases: they discussed the effects of CO2 on the isolated fungi in depth, despite the high concentrations employed in the studies.
