Qipao e a imagem das mulheres da China contemporânea

Abstract

O qipao é a imagem mais típica das mulheres chinesas e o mais célebre representante do vestuário tradicional chinês. No entanto, a informação e bibliografia em português sobre o qipao é muito escassa. Durante a minha frequência no curso do Mestrado em Estudos Interculturais Português/Chinês: Tradução, Formação e Comunicação Empresarial na Universidade do Minho, muitos colegas portugueses perguntaram-me porque é que os chineses nunca vestem roupas tradicionais do seu país. Ao mesmo tempo, talvez um grande número de portugueses partilhe estas dúvidas acerca das vestes tradicionais chinesas: O que é o qipao? Em que contexto histórico-cultural surgiu? O que causou o seu declínio? Porque é que os chineses não o usam, atualmente? Por essa mesma razão, considero oportuna a realização de um relatório de estágio sobre o tema, com textos e imagens, podendo o mesmo servir como conteúdo de uma exposição sobre o qipao no Instituto Confúcio da Universidade do Minho, com o objetivo de deixar mais explícito a história, cultura e valores do qipao na China antiga, sem esquecer o seu papel na sociedade contemporânea chinesa.

As a traditional dress for Chinese women, qipao is one of the most remarkable form in China’s clothing history. However, there are few Portuguese books or documents on qipao. During my study in the Master Program in Portuguese/Chinese Intercultural Studies at University of Minho, many Portuguese students asked me why the Chinese do not wear traditional clothing. Nowadays, a large number of Portuguese people may be curious about this traditional Chinese gown: what is exactly the qipao? In what kind of culture and history context did qipao come into its being? What caused the decline of qipao? Why nowadays few Chinese people wear it? For this reason, I chose this theme as my report, in both text and illustration form so that it can be used by the Confucius Institute at the University of Minho for the purpose of holding an exhibition about the qipao. This exhibition aims to allow Portuguese people to have a better understanding of the history and the cultural value of qipao both in Ancient and Contemporary China.

旗袍是中国典型的服饰之一，同样也是中国传统服饰的代表。然而在葡萄牙 几乎很少有任何关于旗袍的葡语书籍与资料。 我是一名米尼奥大学中葡跨文化硕士课程的学生，在葡求学期间，曾经有很 多葡萄牙人问我为什么中国中很少穿着中国的传统服饰 — 旗袍。也许同时，已 有许多葡萄牙人抱有诸多疑问：到底什么是旗袍？ 是什么样的中国文化和历史诞 创和造就了旗袍？ 是什么原因引起了旗袍的衰落？ 为什么当今社会越来越少的 中国人穿旗袍了？ 出于这个原因，我选择了这个题目作为硕士课程的实习报告，将其内容以文 字与图片形式加以展现，提供给米尼奥大学孔子学院，以便开展一个关于旗袍的 展览，从而让更多的葡萄牙人明确旗袍的历史，文化和旗袍的价值。
