This dissertation is inserted within the Visual Arts, Communication, and Visual Anthropology discussions, and empowers a discussion about a possible “place” of the image, by approaching the affective relations, which are established along with the photographic object. It is assumed that the disclosure of a sense for the new photographic products depends on the ability to create new methods based on the relation between the evolved parts, and on finding a new scenario for a dialogue mediated by the photography in which, as being faced as a result of a real fragment it also becomes a register of the confrontation between the individual and the world. This research falls within the field of contemporary art and presents a series of processes for the creation of imagery, in which the intention is to propose a change of attitude facing the visual constructions “of” and “to” a group of indigenous Northern Brazilian children, generating a sort of aesthetics of the affection. In this process, different points of view are assumed: – Primarily, the investigation started from the panorama of the indigenous people, which are deconstructing their stereotyped image and are also producing a set of multiple self-images. These self-images are receiving specific roles according to the context they belong to. We are in search for a reflexion relying on the aesthetics experience concerning the self-representation of the portrayed individuals, which can be taken as a productive dimension of new perceptions on photography, in regard to a specific type of photographic production: photo painting. – On the other hand, we have assumed the artist’s viewpoint as an investigator and mentor, by using differentiated methodological proposals for the interaction with the researched individuals so to think of the aesthetics in which the image is added in order to produce the dialogue. – Finally, we carried out a series of artworks, exhibitions, and artistic interventions, here represented under the form of the object “artist’s book”, as a result of a lived and applied experience, which arose from an approach to photography as an important philosophical and poetical instrument, able to mediate the possible relations between affection and knowledge acquisition, revealing the strength from the aesthetics of the affection.
