As bibliotecas universitárias e a formação dos estudantes de engenharia no domínio da documentação/informação

Abstract

É debatido o papel das bibliotecas universitárias, e dos seus profissionais, na formação dos futuros engenheiros no domínio da informação científica e técnica, tendo em conta as mutações e tendências que se registam nesta área, bem como os problemas e necessidades do ensino da engenharia. São apresentadas algumas acções em curso na Biblioteca de apoio à Escola de Engenharia da Universidade do Minho.

The role of academic libraries, and their professionals, in the formation of future engineers, on the mastery of scientifical and technical information is discussed, taking into consideration the mutations and tendencies that are registered in this area, as well as the problems and needs of engineering education. Some actions in course at the library of the Minho University School of Engineering are presented.
