Plataforma cultural: um equipamento comunitário no Bairro do Castelo

Abstract

O presente trabalho procura contribuir para inverter a tendência de abandono do centro histórico de Lamego. A proposta de intervenção pretende reintroduzir o centro histórico no sistema da cidade, nos seu fluxos, programas e, consequentemente, no quotidiano da população. A escolha da cidade de Lamego advém da proximidade existente entre a investigadora e o território em estudo, permitindo que logo no início da investigação já exista conhecimento sobre os problemas que o seu núcleo antigo enfrenta. Na sequência de uma profunda análise do sistema urbano de Lamego e, de forma mais aprofundada, do seu centro histórico, desenvolve-se um projeto que, em simultâneo, contribui para a revitalização do centro histórico e para a afirmação da sua contemporaneidade. O estudo divide-se em três partes, iniciando numa primeira parte de análise e reconhecimento do território de intervenção, dos seus principais momentos evolutivos e das problemáticas e acções que alimentam a sua transformação. Através, nomeadamente, da análise dos equipamentos públicos e sistema viário da cidade. A segunda parte apoia-se no estudo anterior para definir e consolidar uma estratégia projetual que a nível programático reúna várias componentes que permitam cumprir os objetivos de reintegração e atractividade. A proposta de intervenção baseia-se na topografia do terreno, na reinterpretação da forma do lugar através de um sistema de plataformas semelhante aos socalcos presentes no terreno. A terceira parte diz respeito à fase do desenho com a elaboração da proposta de intervenção que é o elemento central do trabalho. A análise desenvolvida e as estratégias apresentadas dão lugar ao projeto de transformação.

This work aims at reversing the abandonment’s tendency in the historic center of Lamego. The present intervention intends to reintegrate part of historic centre in city system, in their natural flows, in their cultural program and consequently in the daily life of their population. Lamego is the city selected for this work, due to the proximity between the researcher and the territory, but also, due to the prior knowledge about problems that the old center face. After a further analyses regarding to the urban system of Lamego, more focus on historic part, it was developed a project that promots simultaneously the revitalizing of the historic center and the claiming of their contemporaneity. This study is divided into three parts. First, analysis and recognition of territory studied, main progresses and issues, but also, the actions that provided their transformation, namely through, public’s apparatus analysis and city’s road networking. The second part of the work supports on the previous study to define and consolidate a design strategy that meets different components on programmatic level, to achieve the reintegration and attractiveness aims. The intervention proposal is based on the topography of the terrain, the reinterpretation of the shape of that place through a system of platforms like the terraces on the ground typical of this region. The third part is the central element of the work, it concerns the practical activity which includes the preparation of the intervention. The analysis developed and the strategies presented give place to a project of transformation.
