A imagem da mãe nas culturas chinesa e portuguesa

Abstract

O tratamento dado à mãe acompanhou a evolução da humanidade. O papel da mãe em prol do desenvolvimento da sociedade é visível e insubstituível. Porém, o seu estatuto tem mudado ao longo da História. No presente trabalho analisar-se-á as imagens da mãe nas culturas chinesa e portuguesa em diferentes períodos, realçando os elementos culturais típicos de cada país, culminando numa análise comparativa das duas culturas. Diferentemente de outros trabalhos que abordaram a imagem da mãe de um ponto de vista sociológico e histórico, este estudo foca-a sob uma perspetiva cultural. Num primeiro momento, faz-se uma abordagem longitudinal sobre a visão/estatuto da mãe chinesa e portuguesa, de um ponto de vista etimológico, mitológico, filosófico e religioso. Posteriormente, apontar-se-á as diferenças e semelhanças das imagens da mãe nas duas culturas, procurando lançar propostas para a resolução de alguns problemas associados. Simultaneamente, aborda-se o estatuto e a imagem do sexo feminino nos dois países, como forma de enquadrar e favorecer a compreensão do estatuto e da imagem materna.

The name “mother” followed the evolution of humanity. The role of the mother for the development of society is visible and irreplaceable. However, its status has changed throughout history. In the present work the images of the mother in the Chinese and Portuguese cultures in different periods will be analyzed, with an emphasis to the typical cultural elements of each country, culminating in a comparative analysis of the two cultures. Unlike other studies that dealt mainly with the mother's image from a sociological and historical point of view, this study focuses on a cultural perspective. At first, a longitudinal approach is taken on the vision / status of the mother for Chinese and Portuguese people, from an etymological, mythological, philosophical and religious point of view. Subsequently, the differences and similarities of the images of the mother in the two cultures will be pointed out, seeking to launch proposals for the resolution of some associated problems. Simultaneously, we try to provide a wider view on the status and image of the female gender in both countries in order to frame some back knowledge for a better understanding of the status and the maternal image.

母亲这个称呼伴随着人类的诞生而出现。母亲，在推动历史的进程中的作 用，是显而易见并且无可取代的。但是在这个进程中，母亲的地位也在发生着 变化。本文以比较文化的角度， 凭借中国和葡萄牙两国中的文化元素研究两国 不同历史时期的母亲形象，对两国母亲形象加以对比。本论文有别于其它从社 会学角度或历史学角度探讨母亲地位和形象的视角，而是从文化的角度进行探 索。 本文第一章和第二章为纵向比较，分别以两国的字源、神话、宗教哲学思 想以及有母亲象征含义的物体为载体，研究母亲的形象和地位。第三章横向比 较两国母亲在跨文化研究里所折射出的异同点，并针对发现的问题，提出自己 的见解。另外，在整个论文的研究中，加入了对中葡两国女性地位和形象的研 究，以便为母亲这一角色提供背景知识的比较。
