A importância da embocadura na aprendizagem da trompete e a sua influência na motivação discente

Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo é relacionar o domínio da embocadura com a motivação discente no estudo da trompete. Investigou-se se existem vantagens em trabalhar com exercícios específicos para a embocadura e a influência que pode ter uma aprendizagem adequada da embocadura na motivação para o estudo da trompete. Consistiu numa investigação-ação composta por cinco aulas dadas individualmente a dois alunos de onze e treze anos de idade. Nessas aulas foram trabalhados exercícios especificamente selecionados para o trabalho com a embocadura. Foram efetuados questionários aos alunos antes e depois da intervenção e uma entrevista a um reconhecido professor de trompete. Depois da análise dos resultados da investigação concluímos que existem vantagens na adoção de exercícios específicos para o trabalho com a embocadura, tais como: melhoria na formação, colocação e manutenção da posição da embocadura; melhorias no estudo individual; reflexo do trabalho técnico na execução das peças; maior facilidade em trabalhar com os alunos se estes estiverem fisicamente em condições de dar resposta às solicitações e tarefas; por fim, os alunos evoluem mais rapidamente. Por outra parte, reparamos que a sensação de maior facilidade está relacionada com a perceção de melhoria motivacional do aluno, porque atribui esse aumento à eliminação dos problemas técnicos de embocadura. É possível afirmar também que a motivação interna beneficia de um trabalho concentrado nas questões técnicas que o aluno pode efetivamente resolver e que estão ao seu alcance através de exercícios escolhidos para esse efeito. Portanto, os resultados favorecem a noção de que existe uma significativa relação entre a melhoria da embocadura e o aumento de motivação dos alunos.

The goal with this study is to estalish some relationships between the embouchure and students’ motivation when studying the trumpet. The investigation was focused on the possible advantages that may come from exercises specifically chosen to work the embouchure and the influence a proper embouchure learning may have upon the student motivation to study the trumpet. Consisted in an action-research across five lessons taught individually to two students, eleven and thirteen years old. In those classes selected exercises were used to work with the embouchure. Data was collected with two different questionaires given to both students and also an interview given by a renowned trumpet teacher. The results lead to the conclusion that there are advantages in adopting specifically chosen exercises to work the embouchure, such as: impovements in forming, setting and keeping the embouchure position; enhanced individual study; the technical work reflects upon the pieces performance; easiness in working with students if they are fisically in shape to answer the task requirements; finally, the students evolve more rapidly. On the other hand, we noticed that the easiness sensation when working with the students is related with student the perception of motivation growth, because the student relates that increase to the elimination of technical embouchure problems. Its possible to also state that internal motivation benefits from a work focused on technical issues that the student can actually solve and that are within his reach through exercises specifically chosen for that purpose. Therefore, the results sustain the notion that there is a significant relation between embouchure improvements and increse in students’ motivation.
