Portraits of lives: “Brazilians” traveling through Europe in the XIXth century

Abstract

The XIXth century is marked by a series of developments, rooted in previous decades, that will bring about changes in the way Western Men is. Among the most relevant changes we can highlight the ones that occurred in transportation and that produced, among other mutations, the possibility of individuals to move faster and further distances in a more effective way. Of course, in this section, we have sought to emphasize, essentially, the economic impact of advances in the media, but should not minimize their social and cultural impact.
