Qualidade de vida e satisfação sexual na endometriose clínica

Abstract

A Endometriose é uma doença feminina crónica progressiva que afeta aproximadamente 176 milhões de mulheres em idade reprodutiva, no mundo, tendo um forte impacto na Qualidade de Vida e Satisfação Sexual. Este estudo com design transversal, teve como objetivo identificar variáveis que contribuem e moderam a Qualidade de Vida e a Satisfação Sexual em mulheres com Endometriose clínica. Participaram 124 mulheres, avaliadas através dos instrumentos: Questionário Sociodemográfico; The Endometriosis Health Profile-30 (EHP-30); Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS); Couple Satisfaction Index (CSI-4) e Global Measure of Sexual Satisfaction (GMSEX). Os resultados mostraram que os fatores que contribuíram para uma pior Qualidade de Vida foram as faltas ao trabalho e a morbilidade psicológica, e os fatores que contribuíram para uma maior Satisfação Sexual foram a frequência de atividade sexual e a satisfação conjugal. A perceção da gravidade de sintomas tem um papel moderador na relação entre intensidade de dor pélvica crónica e a Qualidade de Vida. De acordo com os resultados, é necessário desenvolver uma intervenção multidisciplinar, focada na diminuição da sintomatologia ansiosa e depressiva e nas representações da doença, nomeadamente a perceção da gravidade de sintomas, particularmente nas mulheres que faltam ao trabalho, devido à doença.

Endometriosis is a chronic progressive female disease that affects approximately 176 million women of reproductive age in the world, having a strong impact on Quality of Life and Sexual Satisfaction. This cross-sectional study aimed to identify variables that contribute to and moderate the Quality of Life and Sexual Satisfaction in women with clinical Endometriosis. 124 women participated, evaluated through the instruments: Sociodemographic Questionnaire; The Endometriosis Health Profile-30 (EHP-30); Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS); Couple Satisfaction Index (CSI-4) and Global Measure of Sexual Satisfaction (GMSEX). The results showed that the factors that contributed to a worse Quality of Life were the lack of work and the psychological morbidity, and the factors that contributed to a greater Sexual Satisfaction were the frequency of sexual activity and the marital satisfaction. The perception of the severity of symptoms has a moderating role in the relationship between intensity of chronic pelvic pain and quality of life. According to the results, it is necessary that a multidisciplinary intervention, focused on the reduction of the anxious and depressive symptomatology and and in the illness representations, namely the perception of the severity of symptoms, particularly in women who are absent from work due to the illness.
