Resumo(s)Graphene fibre-based smart materials exhibiting multiple capabilities are getting attention due to their wide application areas. In this work, chitosan and polyethylene glycol (PEG) were used for the dispersion of several graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) percentages onto flax fabrics. FESEM images demonstrated that incorporation of GNPs onto the flax fibres was successfully achieved. All the developed samples were characterized, and their potential to be used as smart materials was evaluated by measuring the electrical conductivity and piezoresistive behaviour. The best samples under study revealed approximately 6.5 S/m of electrical conductivity and gauge factors between 1.6 and 1.8.
