Adaptação da internet based sample do International Self-Report Delinquency 4 – estudo exploratório

Abstract

Existe uma escassez de dados sistemáticos e comparáveis da delinquência juvenil entre os vários países, assim como uma falta de instrumentos de autorrelato para este mesmo construto. Para responder a estas necessidades foi criado o International Self-Report Delinquency (ISRD). Primeiramente foi realizada a adaptação transcultural, para a versão portuguesa, da versão B do internet based sample do ISRD4. Posteriormente, foi realizado um estudo exploratório que pretendeu averiguar o efeito do contexto, do género, do nível socioeconómico e da perceção de violência nos comportamentos delinquentes relatados nos inquéritos por telemóvel. Para tal, foram inquiridas 78 pessoas com 18 e 19 anos. Verificou-se uma associação entre os comportamentos delinquentes reportados e a perceção de violência e a existência de diferenças entre os participantes dos diferentes géneros ao nível do número de comportamentos reportados, em particular dos “graves”. Por outro lado, não existiram associações estatisticamente significativas entre o nível socioeconómico e o relato da prática de comportamentos delinquentes, nem diferenças entre os comportamentos delinquentes reportados na presença de terceiros. No geral, conclui-se que o instrumento está apto a ser aplicado à população portuguesa e que através do seu uso, em particular pelo telemóvel, é possível obter dados para estudar os comportamentos delinquentes.

There is a lack of systematic and comparable data on juvenile delinquency between countries, and a lack of self-report instruments for this same construct. To give an answer to these needs the International Self-Report Delinquency (ISRD) was created. Firstly, we carried out a cross-cultural adaptation, to the portuguese version, of the B version of the internet based sample of the ISRD4. Subsequently, an exploratory study was carried out to investigate the effect of context, gender, socioeconomic status and perception of violence on the delinquent behaviors reported in the mobile survey. 78 participants between the ages of 18 and 19 were surveyed. It was testified an association between reported delinquent behavior and the perception of violence, and the existence of differences between participants of different genders in terms of reported delinquent behaviors, in particular “serious” ones. Alternately, there were no statistically significant associations between the socioeconomic status and the delinquent behaviors reported, nor differences between the delinquent behaviors reported in the presence of others. In general, it is concluded that the instrument is ready to be apllied to the Portuguese population and that the instrument, in particular with the use of the mobile, is an appropriate tool to measure delinquent behaviors.
