Instrumentos para a divulgação do património geomorfológico de áreas protegidas: O caso do Parque Natural de Montesinho

Abstract

Um projecto de inventariação e caracterização do património geológico e geomorfológico tem vindo a ser desenvolvido no Parque Natural de Montesinho (PNM). Neste trabalho apresentam-se os aspectos geomorfológicos mais relevantes da área do PNM, traduzidos por locais de interesse geomorfológico, bem como os produtos e iniciativas que visam a valorização e a divulgação deste património natural. Estes incluem quatro percursos pedestres interpretados, dois painéis interpretativos da paisagem, cartografia geomorfológica simplificada e visitas guiadas no terreno. No PNM, a implementação destes produtos conjuntamente com outra inform ação geológica irá perm itir uma m elhor percepção da paisagem pelo público em geral, assim com o fornecerá novas ferram entas de intervenção ao pessoal técnico do parque.

A project of inventory and characterization of the geological and geomorphological heritage has been developed in Montesinho Natural Park (MNP). In this work we present the more interesting geomorphological features of the MNP area (geomorphological sites), as well as several initiatives aiming the promotion of this natural heritage. The set of initiatives include four pedestrian trails, two interpretative panels, one simplified geomorphological map which includes the location of interpretative panels, pedestrian trails and geomorphological sites as well as other initiatives like guiding tours through the geomorphological features of MNP's area. These initiatives are integrated in a larger geoconservation strategy being developed in protected areas of north-eastern Portugal. In the MNP, the implementation of these geomorphological interpretation products along with other geological information will allow general public to understand the landscape and will provide new tools to park managers.
