dc.description.abstract | Objective: Analyze the turn-taking in mother-child interactions by manipulating the type of task: free play with objects vs. construction play (with rules) - - which corresponds to the independent variable and although it has not been manipulated, the direction also represents an independent variable. Method: vocalizations of 18 mother-child dyads were analyzed in two semi-structured situations, referring to the two play tasks. The ELAN program was used to segment the vocalizations and AVTA to calculate the Floor Transfer Offset (FTO), which allows us to measure gaps and overlaps in a continuous variable (De Ruiter et al., 2006). The data obtained were then statistically analyzed using SPSS software (version 28). Results: The results showed a normal distribution of the floor transfer offset in the two types of tasks, i.e., the type of task did not influence the floor transfer offset. However, this was modulated by the direction of the transition in the turn taking, since values were higher when it was performed in the mother-child direction in comparison with child-mother direction. | por |
