Abstract

[Excerpt] Brazil’s recent rise in the political, economic and trade spheres has prompted the European Union (EU) to recalibrate its traditional relations with the country so as to match the former’s status as a twenty-first century ‘emerging power’ with international ambitions whilst circumventing the protracted EU–Mercosur free trade agreement.
